My Rating “The Shadow Kingdom” Above the ancient city of Valusia, a golden moon hangs in the midnight sky. Outside the city gates, a massive pavilion has been erected in honor of the king who now sits in celebration. Kull, the mighty ruler of Valusia, and Ka-Nu, ambassador of the Pictish tribes, are deep in
My Rating “The Demon Of The Maze!” Trapped in an underground maze filled with magic and monsters, Red Sonja must find her way back to the sewers from which she was kidnapped. Why, oh why, did she choose to come to Venzia? Nothing but trouble has followed the She-Devil with a Sword since her arrival
My Rating “Massacred Memories” Conan had always been there for Hydallan. From their childhood ascension as unskilled warriors, to the Fortress Venarium where the Cimmerian tribes united to rout an Aquilonian army—a deed thought impossible. Now, Conan has rescued his friend from a death cult responsible for unleashing a ghoulish horde upon mankind. But while
My Rating “Cursed Shores Beyond – Part Two: An Isle Of Dread” The obelisk stood above the beach at the edge of a dense jungle canopy. Was it evidence of some previous civilization, or a warning to anyone foolish enough to seek refuge here? Judging by its construction—a sickly green crystalline stone infused with human
My Rating “Part V: Ice & Flames – Chapter Two” Conan lands the killing blow, burying his weapon deep into the ancient Dragon of Earth. A horrendous death wail rings across the Margondar Mountains as the wounded beast collapses against the frozen landscape. With the creature finally dying, the Cimmerian stalks toward its massive carcass.
My Rating “Doom Of The Gods – Part 05” Doom has come to the city of Khorshemish! Its chosen form is that of the Demoroq. As the Royal Guard and Rising Sun clash in the streets over petty human-rights initiatives, the ancient demon tears innocent denizens limb from limb. Even the mighty She-Devil with a
My Rating “People Of The Blackstone Circle – Part 02” “Follow the silver vein to the lair of the Black Seers. Destroy the crystal globe with the four golden pomegranates…” Those words gurgled desperately from Khemsa’s lips as his mangled body slowly bled out upon the rocks. The Turanian wizard had dared to challenge the
My Rating “Blades Of The Brotherhood” Young Jack should have slain Sir George Banway during the duel that morning. The windswept English beach would have been as good a place as any for that rat scoundrel to meet his maker. Unfortunately, the local magistrate ended the contest according to law when Jack Hollinster drew first
My Rating “The Lion Errant – Part 02: Love And Hate” Peace has failed the Gond. Now the armies of two Khans march against the Warrior Queen of Gondwana. As Rani Durgavati prepares her kingdom for all-out war, the invading forces are introduced to an ancient evil. A Vetala has joined forces with the Mughals,
My Rating “An Informal History Of The Thomas/Smith Conan” Roy Thomas provides a two-page history of his work with Barry Windsor-Smith. Without these two pioneers, surely Conan the Barbarian would never have reached the success that it did in the early 1970s. Fans of Conan the Barbarian will definitely want to read this exposé. “Rogues
