My Rating “The Shadow Kingdom” Above the ancient city of Valusia, a golden moon hangs in the midnight sky. Outside the city gates, a massive pavilion has been erected in honor of the king who now sits in celebration. Kull, the mighty ruler of Valusia, and Ka-Nu, ambassador of the Pictish tribes, are deep in
My Rating “The Demon Of The Maze!” Trapped in an underground maze filled with magic and monsters, Red Sonja must find her way back to the sewers from which she was kidnapped. Why, oh why, did she choose to come to Venzia? Nothing but trouble has followed the She-Devil with a Sword since her arrival
My Rating “Blades Of The Brotherhood” Young Jack should have slain Sir George Banway during the duel that morning. The windswept English beach would have been as good a place as any for that rat scoundrel to meet his maker. Unfortunately, the local magistrate ended the contest according to law when Jack Hollinster drew first
My Rating “An Informal History Of The Thomas/Smith Conan” Roy Thomas provides a two-page history of his work with Barry Windsor-Smith. Without these two pioneers, surely Conan the Barbarian would never have reached the success that it did in the early 1970s. Fans of Conan the Barbarian will definitely want to read this exposé. “Rogues
My Rating “The Garden Of Fear” Conan and Jenna have escaped the cult of the Night-God. The city of Shadizar soon fades into the distance. Days later, in the mountains to the east, the two travelers will have their resolve tested once again. A clan of primitive ape men attack Conan for the woman he
My Rating “The Keepers Of The Crypt” On the run from Corinthian Soldiers, Conan seeks shelter inside an abandoned city. Unknown to the Cimmerian, an old adversary from the Battle of Venarium is following from the shadows. The Corinthian Soldier makes ready his sword. Today, he will take revenge against the barbarian for the deaths
My Rating “The Blood of the Unicorn” Andar of Bezfarda was a young boy when he first caught a glimpse of one. The sleek white body of a horse. The tail of a lion. And the horn. What a magnificent creature, the unicorn. Andar wanted so much to touch the snow-white mane. But the unicorn
My Rating “And Faith, Undying…” Satan has brought death to the small village of Aubermach! As Solomon Kane reconciles with an old friend and fellow Englishmen, a savage beast slaughters under the full moon light. A curse has fallen upon the Cabel household. There is only one question. Who is the wolf, and who is
My Rating “The Lurker Within!” Kallian Publico, proprietor of the Numalia House of Relics, lies dead at Conan’s feet. The blade of the Cimmerian is undrenched. Something strangled the Numalian and made way with the treasure Conan had been sent to retrieve. But what could crush the rotund wretch of man with such ease? Before
My Rating “Devil-Wings Over Shadizar” Why does the towering Minaret stand open to the sky? This is one of many questions Conan had as he raced through the darkened streets of Shadizar. The men in red robes had abducted his new friend Jenna for some nefarious purpose. Their cult seemed to be feared across the
