My Rating “Massacred Memories” Conan had always been there for Hydallan. From their childhood ascension as unskilled warriors, to the Fortress Venarium where the Cimmerian tribes united to rout an Aquilonian army—a deed thought impossible. Now, Conan has rescued his friend from a death cult responsible for unleashing a ghoulish horde upon mankind. But while
My Rating “Cursed Shores Beyond – Part Two: An Isle Of Dread” The obelisk stood above the beach at the edge of a dense jungle canopy. Was it evidence of some previous civilization, or a warning to anyone foolish enough to seek refuge here? Judging by its construction—a sickly green crystalline stone infused with human
My Rating “An Informal History Of The Thomas/Smith Conan” Roy Thomas provides a two-page history of his work with Barry Windsor-Smith. Without these two pioneers, surely Conan the Barbarian would never have reached the success that it did in the early 1970s. Fans of Conan the Barbarian will definitely want to read this exposé. “Rogues
My Rating “Cursed Shores Beyond – Part One: Perilous Waters” Crested waves spill over the deck of the Briney Wren, pushing sailors violently toward the forecastle. One turns to catch a glimpse of their newest recruit, Conan of Cimmeria. The Barbarian appears to be grappling with something much larger than himself. A man, perhaps. If
My Rating “The Conquering Crown – Part 03: The Unlikely Sovereign” “A man may be called king, but to be worthy of such power requires more than a mere crown.” Through unforeseen alliances and a belated rebellion, Conan – the Hero of Poitain, lays siege to the city of Tarantia. There he must face one
My Rating “The Conquering Crown – Part 02: The Ill-Suited Guest” Prisoner! From the toast of Aquilonia to Traitor, Conan of Cimmeria has been betrayed by the Mad King! As all of the counts and barons scramble to realign their positions within the political hierarchy, the once celebrated Hero of the Poitain War awaits his
My Rating “The Conquering Crown – Part 01: The Implausible General” The lands of Aquilonia continue to deteriorate under the maniacal leadership of King Numedides. While Count Trocero of Poitain attempts to strengthen ties with Tarantia, to the west, King Ferdrugo De Ramiro III of Zingara plots to overthrow the mad king. If Poitain does
My Rating “The Nomad” A stranger has come to the gates of Tarantia seeking council with the King of Aquilonia. Yet, the Black Dragons – the ordained defenders of the city, bar his entrance as they would any common vagrant. There would be no audience with Conan or his royal vassals that day. So the
My Rating “A Nest Of Serpents – Part One: Slaves Of The Magi” A quarter moon stood high in the night sky as a stranger to the Kushian town of Daynt stalked a group of local denisons. These men were hiding a secret which could affect those who had just entered the squallored walls proper.
My Rating “Frozen Faith Part 02 – Daughter’s Gaze” In the far north of Asgar, Conan joins a group of battle-weary Aesirmen as they fight against an encroaching force of Vanir raiders. The young Cimmerian had little interest in the northmen and their blood-feuds, but when the red-haired savages attacked an undefended colony of women
